Honeywell International Auditorium, Morristown, New Jersey

On Thursday, April 25, 2013, approximately 65 Honeywell/AlliedSignal retirees and guests heard Rob Ferris, Honeywell Vice President for External Communications, tell of Honeywell’s plans to move the Corporate Headquarters to Morris Plains.

On 2/26/13 Honeywell announced that it was purchasing a new global headquarters in Morris Plains, NJ.  The purchase agreement includes 40 acres of land, a 475,000 square foot building complex, and a parking garage. With this site, Honeywell will have the opportunity to equip the new location with the latest technologies and accommodations. The building retrofits will include Honeywell technologies that will allow for greater energy efficiency and enable the site to be a showcase for the company’s building technology capabilities. More than 50% of Honeywell’s technology portfolio is dedicated to energy efficiency.

In a slide show, Rob noted that the Morris Plains site is less than 5 miles from the present Morris Township site, which will greatly minimize disruption to the more than 1,000 Honeywell employees schedule to occupy the building.  The Morris Plains site has more office space than the present site.  The Morris Plains site will contain an auditorium, cafeteria, fitness center and space for a credit union.  Plans also will include a day care center.

Rob, remained after the formal presentation to answer questions.
