Honeywell/AlliedSignal Retired Employees Association

From the H/AREA history archives, we will offer a slide presentation on Honeywell Past which will include the founding fathers, and some of the early inventions.

A Honeywell executive will talk about the present and future of Honeywell.

So, who were the Founding Fathers?

Names like: Samuel Barrett, Jacob F. Schoellkopf, Rowland Hazard, William Cogswell, Albert Betz, W.R. Sweatt, William H. Nichols, Mark Honeywell, Eugene Meyer, are not all household names.

And what were some of the early inventions?

A process for manufacturing sodium carbonate, the “Damper-Flapper”, a product called “Tarvia” (which evolved into asphalt paving), T-86 “Round” thermostat, and more.
